Preparation for doubles tournament

1250 Pts - Eldar Roster
So a friend and I are heading up to MuGu Games tomorrow for a doubles tournament.  We are bringing my Eldar and Blood Angels.  You share a single force org slot and each army is 1250 points.  The codices must also be different.  So here are our lists.  This is greatly influenced by what we have built as we would not take the weapon upgrades that are on the Wave Serpents as they are so expensive.

More airbrush basecoating on two dreadnoughts.

An update.  After some errand running in the late afternoon I was able to get the dreadnoughts base-coated with the airbrush.  I have the Blood Angels Furioso kit here as well as the AoBR dreadnought.  They are both magnetized to accept any of the arms (also have assault cannon, multi-melta, and two more normal DCC arms that still need some work).  The sarcophagus on the Furioso is magnetized to accept any of the three sarcophagi.  Also the normal arms are magnetized to allow the blood talons or fists.

There is a team tournament at a semi-local game store later this month, and I'm hoping to make some nice progress on the army so that it looks semi respectable.

Airbrushing Land Raider and Drop Pod

I broke the airbrush out today to get some base-coating done.  Finished the land raider and drop pod exteriors.  The whiter spots on the land raider will not be yellow in the end so tried to miss them.  I've already done the interior of the drop pod and magnetized the weapons on the land raider.  I'm probably not going to spray these down with the wash that I did the predators in as I'm not super happy with the look.  Might just go with a cleaner look on these guys.  We'll see how they turn out.

I'm getting better with the airbrush and the coat went on much smoother this time.  I'm using Vallejo paint which I love (mainly the dropper bottles).  They took some adjusting to get them thinned correctly as I'm using the heavy pigment line of colors to get a nice coat with the yellow colors.

WIP: Predator and Mephiston

Making more progress on my Lamenters.  Started doing details on a Baal Predator, though there is a long way to go.

The other model is my custom Mephiston.  Not sure what his name or fluff is going to be yet, but played with him the other day and he was a blast to play.  He's made up out of bits from the command squad box, and sanguinary guard.  Not pictured here is a nice banner that goes over his head.

Completed Reclusiarch/Chaplain

So as a reward for getting the first Assault Squad painted up, I decided to work on a HQ.  I recently got a nice lot of 40k miniatures at the local thrift store and included in it was a nice metal Chaplain in Terminator Armor.  I can use him in my army either as a  Chaplain or Reclusiarch depending on the other choices in the army.  This was an absolute blast to paint and the detail is amazing while not being overwhelming.  Still need to touch up with some wash in a few places, but overall I'm very happy with how it turned out.

TH/SS Terminators WIP

I've been working on the Terminators and am really enjoying painting these guys up.  I've decided on making the helmets red for these guys, and maybe even expanding that out to the rest of the army.  I just love the look.  I might just keep it for Sergeants and terminators, etc.  Still have a bunch of detail work and to finish the hammers up.  The bases as well need to be changed to match the Assault squad.  I'm also working on a terminator Reclusiarch, to take a break from yellow.

First Assault squad completed

Took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to paint these.  I didn't like the bright yellows so I muted it down with an earthier color.  Also changed the color on the bases a couple of times.  Not really happy still.  I might go back and redo those to get the to where I'm happy.
